AGNES MARIA BALDWIN (POST)
Born: Nov 20, 1911
Date of Passing: Feb 01, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES MARIA BALDWIN (POST) On Sunday, February 1, 2004 Mom went to be with her Lord, surrounded by the love of her family at Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Glenn (Shirley), Gordon (Agatha), Maxine (Calvin) Pattle and Margaret (Larry) Friesen; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother Ken (Mary). She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 2002. Mom was born and raised in Plankey Plains on November 20, 1911. She met and later married Charles on December 10, 1932. They settled in Otterburne West, a small farming community south of Winnipeg. Here they worked side by side on their farm and became active in the community. She was a member of the United Church and its Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing baseball and score keeping when Dad was playing. She also loved to dance. She and Dad retired from farming in 1972. They travelled to Victoria, BC for several years until they finally bought a condo there in 1979. Every summer they would drive back to Otterburne to spend time with the family. Mom was active in the Victoria Silver Threads Seniors Club where she was known for her soup making and crafts especially her crocheting. They returned to Winnipeg in 1994. We have enjoyed having her close for the last few years. In 2002 she moved in Riverview Health Centre where she was known for her luck at bingo. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren. She was most happy when she was able to have her whole family together for gatherings especially since this gave her a chance to hold the latest addition to her family. She set a great example to her family as to how to live life. Her sense of humour, words of wisdom, as well as her knitted mitts and afghans were greatly appreciated by her family. She took time for everyone and always had goodies whenever someone stopped by to visit. Special thanks to the staff of Riverview (CD2) for their excellent care of Mom. Services will be held on Thursday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Dr., Winnipeg, MB R2J 1C7. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kitchen Fund in care of Windsor Park United Church.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go...
Some become friends and stay awhile
Leaving beautiful footprints on our hearts
And we are never the same because we have made a good friend.
